BPAL: Athens

Athens: (Wanderlust) A reformulation and modernization of a true Classical Greek perfume, myrrhine: voluptuous myrrh, golden honey, red wine, and sweet flowers.
Vial: honey! This is like opening a honey jar and taking a big sniff.
Wet: honey and myrrh. I love myrrh and it comes on nicely.
Drydown: Myrrh comes in strong, some wine hint as the honey levels it all.
Dry: a really mellow combination of wine and honey with myrrh. So nice. Sweet and very pleasant. Elegant scent. It would be lovely for an evening out.

Memphis summer

It's hot here. Hot hot hot even after the sun is down. Fortunately, our AC is getting repaired tomorrow. And I like the reduction in our electric bill, but sitting in my skivvies with a fan and lots of water is getting tiresome.

Work...it was hot. And coming back from Hardy I had a bad moment. I was only doing 45, coming down the little hill on the south side of Ravensden. Thank goodness and whatever gods watch out for truckers. There's a train crossing at the bottom of the hill. Just as I approached, the lights blinked, the crossbars lowered and a whistle blew. OH CRAP. I put on my brakes and downshifted hard. I stopped less than 2 feet from the crossbar. It was a bad moment thinking I wouldn't get it stopped. If I'd had more of a load, I wouldn't have.
