Memphis summer

valarltdIt's hot here. Hot hot hot even after the sun is down. Fortunately, our AC is getting repaired tomorrow. And I like the reduction in our electric bill, but sitting in my skivvies with a fan and lots of water is getting tiresome.
Robin Hood third-round edits are in. Now for a 170 word blurb.
Work...it was hot. And coming back from Hardy I had a bad moment. I was only doing 45, coming down the little hill on the south side of Ravensden. Thank goodness and whatever gods watch out for truckers. There's a train crossing at the bottom of the hill. Just as I approached, the lights blinked, the crossbars lowered and a whistle blew. OH CRAP. I put on my brakes and downshifted hard. I stopped less than 2 feet from the crossbar. It was a bad moment thinking I wouldn't get it stopped. If I'd had more of a load, I wouldn't have.
Over my points again. foo
There's a mosquito bite on my elbow.
