From my sister, because it got buried in the comments:
"I want to thank everyone including my sister for all their good thoughts
and prayers. As Angel will tell you he is a stubborn man who doesn't like
to slow down enough to admit he is sick. He's doing better tonight,
though he will have to have a small surgical proceedure on his shoulder
tomorrow to assess the spread of the the infection. So please keep him in
your thoughts. I truly appreciate each and every one you, with so much
going on it means a lot that you all would do this.

THANK YOU!"

So a little extra today as he goes into surgery about noon, please?

Thank you. You don't know how much this all means to us.

Movies
P/f is whether the movie passes the Beschdel Test. There must be 1) Two female characters 2) who talk to each other, 3) about something besides a man.

1) X-Men 2: X Men United. The war between humans and mutants heats up with a raid on Xavier's school. Rewatch. (p)

2) Journey to the Center of the Earth. Trevor's brother went missing 10 years ago. Now, it's up to him and his nephew to find out what happened. (f, 2)

3) A Knight's Tale. William Thatcher is a squire trying to change his stars and become a knight. Highly entertaining anachronistic soundtrack. (f,3)

4) Dodge City. Cattleman turned sheriff cleans up the town. Big lavish technicolor western. Racist stereotypes (one black character, a porter, played for laughs), sexist banter (typical of the period, also done for comedy) both flaw what could be a great film. Excellent barroom brawl. (f, 3)

Books
1) Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Reread. Audio

2) Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Reread.

3) Jubal Sackett by Louis L'amour. Audio. Not bad but getting very farfetched. Starting in Carolina, marrying a Natchez Princess and fighting a mammoth in the foothills of the Sangre de Christo? Uh, I was with him until the Mammoth. Also, not interested in more books where all the malke characters have names but only one female character does. "The Punka Woman" and "Keokata's woman" were fine once, but these women were there ALL the time. They needed names.

4) The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. Stephan King. TSTL. The first thing you do when lost is STAY PUT. Beyond that amazingly good, very creepy. Very much old-style King,
