Have I mentioned lately that I love my husband? He's always been funny, but last night he got off two really good ones.

Bun and I were discussing what to take for the Litha potluck. I told her she could do a cheesecake if she wanted. Mudd put in, "Chocolate. Female religion, you gotta bring chocolate. Of course, if it were a male religion, it'd be barbecue."

As we headed for bed, he asked how my reading in Howard Pyle's The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood was going. I said slowly. All the forsoothliness was holding me up. And I quoted him this bit:
"Four fixed prices have I. Three pennyworths of meat I sell to a fat friar or priest for sixpence, for I want not their custom; stout aldermen I charge threepence, for it doth not matter to me whether they buy or not; to buxom dames I sell three pennyworths of meat for one penny for I like their custom well; but to the bonny lass that hath a liking for a good tight butcher I charge nought but one fair kiss, for I like her custom the best of all."

He nodded and said "Yep, a bit on the forsooth side. Maybe you should try the new translation by Howard's cousin, Gomer."

I giggled myself to sleep.

1) Jack Chick TOTALLY plagiarized me! http://www.chick.com/reading/tracts/0034/0034_01.asp looks A LOT like my next TQ story, "Crossroads." Except, you know, for the getting saved ending.

2) Ridley Scott is doing Robin Hood. "In a further twist, the traditional Hood soundtrack of soft rock with an occasional Celtic twist (think Bryan Adams or Clannad) will be replaced with pounding electro house, and Little John will be three foot tall. We may well have made that entire last sentence up."

In case it's true, I have one word for Mr. Scott: LadyHawke.

Gen 3

17 Cain lay with his wife, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Enoch. Cain was then building a city, and he named it after his son Enoch. 18 To Enoch was born Irad, and Irad was the father of Mehujael, and Mehujael was the father of Methushael, and Methushael was the father of Lamech.

19 Lamech married two women, one named Adah and the other Zillah. 20 Adah gave birth to Jabal; he was the father of those who live in tents and raise livestock. 21 His brother's name was Jubal; he was the father of all who play the harp and flute. 22 Zillah also had a son, Tubal-Cain, who forged all kinds of tools out of [g] bronze and iron. Tubal-Cain's sister was Naamah.

Out of the line of Cain comes every major cultural and civilization advance.

Is this to say creativity and technology are wicked?
