Help a writer out
Jun. 16th, 2008 10:53 amAll right. So I said I'd write for Working Girls a blue-collar lesbian anthology.
I have the ladies in hand, have since Sappho's Chest. Yolanda is an owner-operator and Alice is a former waitress.
And while I have them, I have NO IDEA what to do with them.
Here's what I have:
So, those of you who read "Rewriting Old Songs" in Sappho's Chest (yes, all six of you!), speak up!
Where do you want to see my Driver and her Cherokee Girlfriend go?
What do you want in the way of story line?
Everything I try keeps going paranormal, and that's SO not the point. Ergo, no zombie dock-workers, centaur dock-bosses, or getting nabbed by vampires while doing hand-unloads.
Has to be contemporary, no supernatural elements.
Even plot generators aren't helping.
I have no idea how to work llamas in, as one suggested.
One random idea:
( randumbness from a random generator )
On the serious side:
All I can come up with is that Alice wants to settle down and is tired of living in a truck with only a post-office box as her home. It'd be good conflict, but I'm not sure I can sustain it for 16 pages.

I was thinking I didn't get much done.
I got up, showered, dressed, started a load of laundry and took Jonner to piano camp.
I got a chicken biscuit (free) for breakfast and watched Bubba-ho-tep
I did 2 more loads of laundry.
I picked up the front room while I watched the movie
I went and got the kids, took them for 99c milkshakes at Sonic
Came home, wrote some.
Put in about 1/2 an hour on bedrooms. Net result 16 sq feet of bare floor, half a bag of trash and 2 piles of laundry
I have ideas on the lesbian story. And managed to get half-way to the target words on the fable.
And I thought I didn't do anything.
