Where I've been
May. 7th, 2007 09:49 amSo Thursday, I went up to Kansas City. Mom needed some moral support, so I went. This let her get some important things done. Joe even seemed to rally a little. He was getting up, eating and even came out and sat up for a while. As weak as he's been, this is a MAJOR improvement.
I got to see my dad and both my sisters. They're doing well.
The trip home was long, But I took a nice long break in St.Louis.

dakiwiboid and reannon for dinner. Kiddo was along too and tolerated us silly old ladies. The Spaghetti Warehouse in Laclede's Landing is very nice. It does look rather like a bordello.
And I blame my dinner partners for this idea: a bordello themed restaurant, complete with bed-booths, too much red plush and pictures of the naked hottie of your preferred gender on the bottom of the plate.
Talked tonbrooks and we got started plotting for Shifting Back and sent Glad Hands off to Ellora.
Also? TotS Monday, and since it's a first Monday, that means a new Kestrel chapter!
Am working on lolcatz style muse pics...blame Kiwi
Dishes, laundry, post-office, grocery shop. the cats are looking sullen and hostile from lack of cat food (Mudd used the end of it Saturday, and there's still about a day's worth sitting in the bowl.)

50 book update
May. 7th, 2007 10:07 am18) The King in Yellow by Robert W. Chambers. A series of creepy novellas linked by a forbidden book that drives the readers mad. The court of the Dragon and the Yellow Sign are both excellent. Victorian (1895) and convoluted, best experienced as an audio book. (audio)
17) Good Omens by Terry Prachett and Neil Gaiman. Absolutely hilarious. Prachett is always funny, and I am more in love with Aziraphale and Crowley than ever. Consenting bicycle repairmen, indeed!

I have CON WEAR!

Then I found it: brown, turquoise and gold. Perfect for me. How hot am I going to look for Hypericon, ladies?

In other news, Ellora's Cave has the full manuscript to Glad Hands. I know they'll want more sex, but more sex DOESN'T fit. I have a fairly large adventure plot that sucks up oh, four of the sixteen chapters. (tally in the first 30 pages: 1 grope, 1 masturbation, 2 bjs, 1 flashback sex, kisses, cuddles, 1 mutual handjob) But the first non-flashback sex scene is chapter 7, and it's only a dream. And we're fifty-six pages in before the heroes make love.
