Fiber is nature's broom

So, it's oatmeal again. Oatmeal every day when I'm home, I think. Toss in a handful of dried mixed fruit when you're boiling the water and it's lovely. Maybe I need a hot-pot for the truck so I can take Quaker on the road. Nah, I'll stick to the Breakfast cookies. Less mess. (whole oats are much, much nicer than quick or instant, and they only take 7 minutes after the boil, as opposed to 3 or 1. If I'm having oatmeal, I can wait 5 minutes for yummy instead of sludge)

Aside from the dr, I had a productive day. (I lost 3 lbs too!)

I totally rewrote my Valentine Chocolate for TQ's February chocolate box.
I got done rewriting Etarin and sent it out. It's 17,377 words now, well into novella territory for EC.
I called my mom for her birthday. My stepfather has gained six pounds. This is GREAT.
I got my contract for my first! print! book! (deadline April 1)
(I also got a W-9, bleh)

Today's plan:
finish the oatmeal
work on everything currently open in WP
run dishes
call the school about Bun's classwork. (very complicated)
PTO program tonight. Jonner has lines.

Is ded of GRRR

Tonight, Jonner had a speaking part in the 3rd grade program. So of course I went.

Now, when I was in 3rd grade, our program was a nifty little thing on various Indian tribes and showed what we had been studying all semester.

Instead I got the mandatory (Christian) prayer, and an hour long hectoring in song and rhyme by 9 year olds on the importance of character.


All I could think was Machiavelli:
It is better to have a reputation for being good than to exert oneself to be actually BE good.

How I did...

Not too swift on the writing front, but I'm getting through Games very nicely.

Made it to the program.

Made oldest son do dishes. Did 2 loads of laundry

And I got the cover art for "Collared Hearts" my summer novella from Phaze.
I'm terribly excited. It's the first cover that has my name on it.
My others have either been anthologies or use the stock cover for that line.

Whee, another cliff!

So, "Paying Forfeits" is out for the "Games People Play" line. 21,924 words and I swear it took me a year to write.

That's three stories edited and submitted in 2 days. In between meals and laundry and sick kids.

Feeling more than a little pleased with myself, and now going to bed, as I have to drive tomorrow.

Now, I can concentrate on Collared Hearts, Outfoxed and the f/f for Sappho's Chest. Still trying to come up with the uniform for MiU... All I can get is a prison uniform and let's NOT go there.

May 1: Men in Uniform 2
May 15: Sappho's Chest

And of course, novel work around the edges. I have 4 I want to finish.
