What a weekend it's been.

Dad and Jen made it down safely, and we had a nice visit. We showed Jen some vids, and it turns out the audio has slipped on a bunch of my vids, so if you've downloaded some that haven't worked, LMK.

I made a pair of shorts and a shirt because today was dress rehersal for Winnie the Pooh It was cold in the Civic Auditorium, and all the animals are in sweatsuits. My poor Christopher Robin is wearing shorts and a broadcloth shirt.

And Mudd continues to be off on weekends. We had the whole house all to ourself this weekend while the kiddos were with my dad.
It was SO weird, yet so cool. We snuggled on the futon and watched TV. (Yes, we live dangerously.)

Not too many details, it's all been just a lot of fun.

We did go to Margarita's last night for dinner. There was a wedding party and we saw the waiter gang up and bodily carry the groom out to his bride. I immediately thought of a fanfic bit I'd written where the revelers cart the happy couple to their honeymoon vehicle.
And the salsa they were playing was so infectuous that Jonner had to dance, so he and I danced. There was some amusement from folks around at this 4' tall boy and his enormous mama, but we had fun.

BROWNIE TRIFLE RECIPE- the ultimate sweet extravaganza.

1 (19.8 ounce) package fudge brownie mix
1/4 cup praline or coffee-flavored liqueur (I use Kahlua)
2 packages Nestle's instant chocolate mousse mix (milk chocolate)
8 (1.4 ounce) toffee-flavored candy bars, crushed (I use Heath Bars)
1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping , thawed
Garnish: chocolate curls or sprinkles

Prepare brownie mix and bake according to package directions in a
13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Prick top of warm brownies at 1-inch intervals using a meat fork, and brush with liqueur. Let cool, and crumble.

Prepare chocolate mousse according to package directions, omitting chilling.

Place half of crumbled brownies in bottom of a 3-quart trifle dish. Top with half of each: mousse, crushed candy bars, and whipped topping. Repeat layers with remaining ingredients, ending with whipped topping. Garnish with chocolate curls or sprinkles. Chill 8 hours. Yield: 16 to 18 servings.

Note: I divide the 8 bars of candy in 2 qt. freezer bags, then crush with my meat tenderizer mallet - that way they are correctly divided. Also, I layer in a 3 qt. footed trifle dish that makes an impressive dessert.
