Our patio is a pool. The sky is dark as 8 PM.
OTOH, no 3/4" hail or much in the way of straightline winds.
The potato salad is dressed, the chocolate tart shell is baking. Now we wait and see if things will dry out enough to BBQ or whether I just fry the burgers.
Obi finished his first quilt block. He's proud of himself, I'm proud of him. 1 down 53 to go. Dollface wants a quilt in the "Breeches" pattern. I think this would be insanely cute done in 12" blocks, with 50 being britches and the other four being a Sunbonnet Sue and laundry basket. I'd tie it in brwn so it looks like Sue has been hanging out her drawers.
Jonner wants to make Box Kite for the fair. He's at the bottom of the age category. it should work out.

Jul. 4th, 2004 07:34 pmObi's coconut pie turned out beautifully. The steaks, marinated in the Grill Mates mesquite, were wonderful. Steakhouse Charcoal (from Save-a-lot) catches quickly and burns hot. But be ready to cook about 15 minutes after lighting.
And the kids dnacing widdershins around the fire was priceless. OK, so my pagan babies were doing a conga line...
The chocolate dream pie (2 pkgs dream whip, 2 pkgs instant choc. pudding, 2 3/4 c. milk, and beat until stiff) was smooth and chocolatey and and yummy.
And Kool-Aid Arctic Green Apple is very strange. it's got a cold aftertaste. Nice flavor but it leaves your mouth cold.
