Jan. 3rd, 2004 01:01 amI am truly frightened by the number of videotapes I own. the commercial ones are enough to fill up 9 feet of shelving. The uncatalogued, labeled ones fill up 12. The catalogued ones (126) take up about 10. The unlabeled uncatalogued fill a big post-office shipping box. Once i get my shelving together, i should have room for all the homemade ones.
At 12 tapes per foot, that's about 500 tapes. (no wonder I have trouble finding stuff when I'm vidding!)
Assuming 400 run 6 hours, and 100 run 2, that's 3000 hours of movies, TV shows and plays. 1300 different shows, minimum. If i watched one/day it would take over 4 years to get through the collection.
Dang, i am such a packrat. And none of this is counting the tapes by the computer for vidding or the ones in the Fandom Box o' Doom. (the latter's only about 3-5)
