Next week is Banned Books Week. http://www.ala.org, the American Library Association site has more info.
So I'm a busy little library paraprofessional.

Posters to be made and hung
I used the pastel soupcans that ALA is using.
I used a can-opener against a swirl with the caption "Open your mind"
But I like the one that's a still of the firemen from Fahrenheit 451 staring at a pile of burning books, one with his flamethrower still lit. It reads "Every time a book is banned...a censor gets his flamethrower."

Yes, Angel has a warped sense of humor.

Must master the button maker and get those done up.
The invitation to faculty to come read is out. The trivia contest is not coming along.

And I got feedback on my Sanctuary Moon stories. Granted Sienn skipped the explicit sex but she still really liked them.

From "Sources of Power:"

"Again, I found myself skipping the more explicit parts, but I thoroughly enjoyed your portrayal of Luke here. In my eyes, you captured him in a phase where he started to gradually lose a bit of his farmboy naivety to the sometimes cruel reality of the war. I liked how he wasn't yet seasoned about injuries and stuff like that, how his fear and his horror came through - and how he pulled himself together yet to help a friend survive, to care for him and find a way out of the mess they had found themselves in. That was very Jedi and showed that Luke is a very, very brave man."

Awww! I give good Luke. (at least sometimes.)

"Hunter in the Shadows" received similarly kind words as did the poem "Tawny Blue Confusion."

So, my Wednesday goes well.
I was looking at the stuff for the Mid-South fair, which starts Friday. We're going. We'll leave and have 4-5 hours to see everything. Lots to do, esp. for the kids. And sweetpotato curly fries, deep fried mars bars, bbq duck, etc.etc.

And we have to see Fairy's cake entry. Bunny's very excited about that.

This journal requires a 6th grade reading level. I average 14 words per sentence, words of 1.3 syllables each.

Either I'm extremely plain spoken, or I need to use antidisestablishmentarianism in sentences more often
I can't decide which.
