So, today at work the work kept coming, and coming and coming.
And that's the last time I miss a staff meeting. Now I have to man the circulation desk when we're out of WS students. And the chair is fraggin uncomfortable.

On the plus side I got started on "Come up and see me some time" the Threepio/Falcon piece I'm writing for Smelly.

Parent teacher conferences were a bust )

[livejournal.com profile] jkb offered to work with me through Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain Must get copy. I just want to draw. I'm an artisan, not an artist.

The Greatcoat is now wearable. I let out the sleeves, moved the buttons and crocheted a muffler to go with it. Now for gloves and a hat. The coat makes me feel tall, elegant, butch and Deckard-ish. And it's warm too. Best 99c I ever spent. A definite improvement over the cheap nylon parka.

Cold moving into ears, always bad.

nothing accomplished. Had McDonald's drive-thru for dinner, and the dimwits forgot to put a hamburger in Dollface's happy meal!
Rassafraggin wastes of water.

I gave her half of my quarter-pounder and went out for Mrs. Winner's Double-Dippers. (so good, so spicy, juicy, hot tender chicken!)

Grrr.

Started a flamewar on circ-plus about use of patron's first names. I used the phrase "The Help" to describe those who, including myself, are in customer service positions. Someone got on his moral high horse and called me "sad."

My first name is a summoning spell, which demands my attention. And those in customer service invariably mispronounce it. Do you know what happens when you botch a summoning spell? You get one pissed off demon on your hands and out of your control!

The Help appropriating use of my first name presumes an intimacy we don't have. It annoys me, it feels phony and I resent it.

OTOH, Hubby v. good about me calling him "Lionel" in bed last night. He's gotta shave. Kissing me awake across my shoulders with that beard...purrrrr.
He just chuckled that evil chuckle he perfected while watching "Brimstone" reruns and kept it up. I love my hubby.
(If I'm not in great error, he called me Martha. OK we're twisted)

Must shower and hit rack.

Is snowing. Hopefully roads not too icy in the morning. Or whole region slick as snot and everything closed.

Hot to Frot
