Yesterday was a difficult day.

I ended up coming home and having a nice long mope. Something about lying in bed, staring at the wall for hours resets my brain and mood.

We had a meeting with the IS team yesterday. Our business model is problematic. We need better distribution, better word of mouth and better online sales.

After all if we can't move Dominant Tendencies, a m/m BDSM book, which is the bread and butter of our genre, we might as well just fade back into being my private reprint house.

And I'm still confronting the rather terrifying idea that I have run dry. I can't write by myself anymore. I can borrow other people's inspiration and run with it, but my own eludes me. I don't believe in running dry. I don't believe in writer's block. I do believe discipline will get me through times of no inspiration better than inspiration will get me through times without discipline.

For those wondering how this will affect June, that story is already started and I know where it's going and how it's going to end up.

Perhaps it is not so much a matter of running dry as it is merely needing a break & time to recharge.

In the meantime, you DO work & play well with others, so maybe team up and write that way for a time until your energies & inspiratinal stores can replenish. If it cranks out good material, and generates income, what does it really matter if it's a solo or duo? You are writing.
