Yet another multi-K impulse buy
Jul. 22nd, 2003 11:03 pmMy van became unliveable.
The AC gave its last gasp, and the brakes were failing. The tires were bald enough that I nearly slid into a semi the other day. And the passenger door remained halfway twixt will and will not, unable to shut or open.
I now drive a 99 blue Ford Windstar. Not as many bells and whistles, but more reliable. I miss the integrated kidseats, the outside temp reading and my gas milage meter. But hey, brakes that work!
Dollface had to have a new carseat, though.
So, 2 new cars and a new computer. Our finances are going to be tight for a while. The good news is the tax refund will more than pay off our remaining credit card debt (we destroyed the visas in 1995), and leave enough to outfit the crew for school.
And there was a raise for hubby, and daycare is down to $158/week. (That's a $100/week drop in 3 years' time. Potty-training really helped.)
We'll be OK. We always are.
Got Jonner's room and the front hall tackled. Tomorrow, kitchen and front room, plus fumigation. Kids get to scrub baths. I want the cat smell out.
Must also work in Bunny and Obi's room. Both showing visible progress, but both still bad enough to get CPS down on me.
But everyone has sheets on their beds now, and Jonner's all match! (Bob the Builder)
Mine don't even match. I have an odd pillow case.
