A blessing
Dec. 17th, 2013 11:00 pmMy oldest boy, Obi-Wan Chrisobi, or Obi as he's been in this space since he was 7, is headed into the Army as of a week from Monday.
So, tonight, we cast an old Charmblessing on him.
Since he is Catholic, we worked with those powers.
Protection Incense (purchased) in the East.
A candle from Brigid's Well in the South
A vial of Holy water in the West
And a stone in the North
In the middle, a San Miguel Archangel novena candle
a Brigid's cross, a vial of St. Michael protection oil (purchased) and a Saint Michael Archangel medal.
I invoked Raphael for the East, Michael for the South, Gabriel of the West and Uriel in the North.
I prayed the St. Michael Novena.
I anointed the cross and medal with oil in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Then, holding them in my right hand, I used the Charm of the Seven Paters, circling the medals through all the quarters as I did. My Gaelic is terrible, so I did it in English.
The charm that Mary placed on her Son be on you
Charm from slaying charm from wounding
Charm between pap and knee
Charm between knee and breast on you
Charm of the Three in One on you
From top of head to sole of foot
Charm of Seven Paters once on you
Charm of Seven Paters twice on you
Charm of Seven Paters thrice on you
Charm of Seven Paters four times on you
Charm of Seven Paters five times on you
Charm of Seven Paters six times on you
Charm of the Seven Paters, of the Seven Paters going Sunwise in lucky hour, on you a-keeping you from harm and accident.
Then, transferring them to the left hand, did the other version
The helmet of salvation about your head
The ring of the Covenant about your neck
The priest's breastplate about your breast
If it be rout on the rear
The shoes of the Virgin to take you swiftly away
Charm of the Three in One on you
From crown of head to sole of foot
And the charm of the Pater of the Seven Paters
A going anti-sunwise and sunwise, sunwise and anti-sunwise
To protect you from behind
From lead and from sword
From wound and from slaying
Till the hour and time of your death.
Then there were prayers to Michael and to the Goddess whom my son recognizes as Mary, and a dismissal of the quarters and grounding the energy.
An extra blessing from Gabriel via namesake, and in the name of the Morrigan, for all warrior-Celts are Hers, even if they are Christian, and the medals were placed in a box for safekeeping, so that his sister can make a cord for them.
