What's going on here at Chez Mudd

My mother has leukemia. The chemo is really not taking hold this time.
And last Thursday when she went in for treatment she was complaining of a terrible headache. So they CAT scanned her and she had bleeding in the brain.
Friday, they did brain surgery.
She called a couple times over the weekend, needing me to reorient her to reality at weird hours (weird work schedule)

And today they discharged her.
She's staying with a friend who is a retired nurse.

I'm driving to Kansas City Saturday and will be up there until Nov 11. I'll be at ConTraeption and I'll be back in Memphis for the wedding I'm preaching on the 12th. Brenda and I have some hard conversations ahead of us. She's been really good about not calling me to come up and handle it, but now, she needs me to, and I'm there to do it.

It's basically going to be three weeks of playing housemaid. I haven't live with my mother for this long since 1995.

Wow- brain surgery on Friday, looking like a mummy during recovery, and now out for good behavior. She is one tough, awesome lady.

She really is. The real test is can I live with her for 3 weeks?
