Thoughts on Pirates of the Carribean

No, I haven't actually seen it yet.
But I must.
Not only is it gay like a big gay thing, according to all the reviews, but it features a Jack Sparrow.
The kids will doubtless adopt him as a great-great-ever-so-great grandfather. Pirate Jedi wizards chasing each other with lego ships and plastic dragons, Ahoy!
(there are innumerable John Sparrows in the family tree: John Sparrow Jr and Sr emigrated from England in the 1820's and the next son John Burgess Sparrow moved from Boston to Ohio, where we disintegrated in Orville)
I'm gonna be getting funny looks when I register for SCA events for the next year or two. I've already had people ask if my legal name is a taken one. Nope, the taken one is "Aethelynde Thorvaldsdottir."
I bet we see a lot of later period (the name emerged in 1345) Sparrows in the SCA as well.
Side note: Mark Hamill has been doing voice work for the cartoon "Striperella" on Spike TV. Kid Rock performs the theme, and also voices a character.
