We're in trouble.
Sep. 7th, 2013 11:36 amIn certain circles, there is the saying "When
nebris is the voice of reason, all hope is lost."
This time, he has it exactly right and says everything I've been shouting.
"No-one who is not owned by The Corporate State is getting anywhere near the Oval Office for the foreseeable future. That will likely translate into a steady stream of Democrats because only Right Wing Radicals can make it through the GOP primaries and The Corporate State has learned The Hitler Lesson, that one cannot control a Political Radical once they grasp the levers of power.
FWIW I stopped voting for president when confronted with Obama Inc. The blatant lying of how he was marketed - The Great Liberal Superman You've All Been Waiting For - so baldly conflicted with his record - Center/Right Corporatist - that I was physically repulsed."
Personally, I voted for Obama, because the pluto/theocrat Romney was so utterly distasteful to me that any vote I could throw against him worked.
We are in Rome, when wholly-owned emperors are manipulated into foreign wars by the military complex. But now the Senate who seem to think we're doing Mel Brooks, has announced "Fuck the Poor!" and cut off the dole of bread, leaving us only circuses...

Date: 2013-09-07 11:49 pm (UTC)I haven't voted major party since I first got the right to vote. I just have no faith in our two major parties. I am only keeping fingers crossed for Chris Christie to either run independent or get the neocons to shut up next election and finally realize how they've fucked up the party. Dr. D was actually Chris' roommate at U Delaware and knew him at Boys State, and made a prediction then he would be president one day...he's the only major party politico at this point I have any faith in from what I know about him behind the scenes.

In many ways Venice was really the first model for a "democratic" government, a group of lagoon islands originally populated by outcasts and refugees that ended up utilizing their unique location and resources to build an incredibly wealthy empire. But then they started to get into foreign invasion, expanding their empire, and they literally gave away all their jobs when new trade routes were developed and the wealthy elite ignored the problems. And you had to be a "noble" to run for a position in government...sound familiar?
There are scary analogies in the history of both former world powers. The sad thing is we just aren't paying attention.

Date: 2013-09-08 10:07 pm (UTC)We aren't even taught how to go looking for the information, but are offered instead superstition and entertainment. My mother is dying of cancer right now, yet she still believes as firmly in the Rapture as she did when she told me I would probably never graduate high school because the End was near. And she is far from the minority.
