So I watched Beckett. Slash city!
Henry II was canonically pansexual. And he loves Thomas Beckett with a mad passion in this. But, despite marrying Henry ("I give you this ring, the Lion Seal of England, as token of your office.") he gives the ring back when he has to marry God as the Archbishop of Canturbury
"Were he a faithless woman you would behave no differently," sighs Henry's mother.
On and on about how much they love each other.
Also, the night Henry's concubine dies, he boots Thomas's bedwarmer, and announces "I don't want to be alone. I'm sleeping here tonight."
Had it been closed-captioned, I'd be writing missing scenes right now...
