If you are considering doing this, please take us indie folks into account.
There are ways to target your non-spending so as not to hurt your friends or help your enemies. For instance, it's one thing not to download the new single at itunes. The artist won't miss the 2c they get from you. But if you spend that 99c at Tom Smith's site, where he writes, performs and publishes his own music, it will make a real difference to him. If you don't buy the latest James Michner (79c/lb!) on Amazon, Michner will never know. OTOH, if you buy from the Literary Underworld, the author you choose WILL know the difference.
Check Killa's post on this.
