Concert time
Dec. 13th, 2011 07:17 pmBut of course children can't openly celebrate Christmas, so only 7 of the 9 songs were Christmas oriented and only 5 of those were religious.
We had the 7th grade band playing "Crusader" (aka "Fairest Lord Jesus"), "Adeste Fidelis" and "Suite for St, Nick."
The 8th grade band (Jonner's) performed "Island Holiday," (about the coming of the wisemen) "O come Emmanuel" and "Hanukkah Celebration"
The 9th graders did "Carol of the Bells," "Christmas Troika" and the Hallelujah Chorus.
It wasn't bad at all.
I had a moment of parenting fail. I had to look up how to tie a tie. I learned to do a Pratt knot. Fast, easy and neater than a half-windsor. Then I did it again for a friend of Jon's at the concert, when his mom couldn't remember how.
