A Day in the Life of a Lazy Liberal

valarltdYou hear it everywhere, the meme that liberals are lazy, that they don't work, that they live on welfare. Or that they're effete ivory-tower dwelling, latte drinking, arugula munchers who never did an honest day's work.
So here you go, a day in the life of this particular lazy liberal. Today, in fact
1:15 AM: alarm goes off. Answer immediately and dress in the dark so as not to disturb husband. Get ready for work, pack breakfast and lunch.
1:45 AM: go to work
2:00 AM: drive semi truck for an hour and fifty minutes, unload it for an hour and a half, drive it another 2.75 hours, unload for half an hour. Drive 3 hours home.
12 noon: fuel truck, park it, post-trip inspection
12:15, realize I have neither crackers nor chili seasoning. Go to store instead of going home
12:40 get home, check mail, call junior high re: ear and eye appts.
12:15-2: shower, make chili, post, pull 2000+ words out of thin air (That's about 8 pages)
2 PM: swing by credit union to deposit $14 royalty check, on way to doctor's
3 PM dr appt. This is follow-up on asthma, bronchitis and warts.
Rest of it is vague, but there will be chili, and anything the kids need to deal with and making pies for Thanksgiving.
And I hope to get to bed by 8 PM so I can get up at 1:15 and do it all again.
Because being on the go for 19 hours a day, moving 400 lb diesel engines, doing second shift and writing novels is EXACTLY the same as eating bonbons and watching soap operas all day on Uncle Sugar's dime.
