Chik-Fil-A is a fairly popular restaurant in my neck of the woods, and many of my friends look at me askance when I tell them I don't eat there. The food is good. The prices are reasonable. And sweet potato waffle fries!

Why don't I eat there?

In 2009, Chik-Fil-A donated $1.7 million to anti-gay organizations, including Focus on the Family, the Alliance Defense Fund, Exodus International and The Eagle Forum.

This is double what they donated to these causes in the years 2003-2008, combined.

Yes, it's their money. Yes, they can do with it as they see fit.

Me, I adhere to the adage "Do not give the enemy bullets. They will shoot you."
Giving money to a group that is anti-gay and anti-woman is giving the enemy bullets.

In the 90s they were donators to Operation Rescue and other anti-choice groups too. Yeah. I don't eat there either.

And actually, it also just bugs the F*** out of me that they're getting tax write-offs for these 'charitable' donations.

Gets better. The company vice-president helped launch the "charity" that is the primary money recipient.

Do you smell laundering? I do.
