Gabe was deep into meditation when Sean yanked him out with a sharp, "Shit! They did it! They really fucking did it!"
"What? Sean, what's wrong?'
"Not one damn thing, babe. what say we go get married on August first?"
"Huh? We're already married."
"I know. but let's make it legal. New York state just did!" Sean was out of his chair with that, reaching out. Gabe reached up and let his husband pick him up and swing him once through the room in a dance of sheer joy.
"They really did it?" Gabe looked at the clock. "At five to midnight the day before Pride. Awesome."
Sean lighted on the couch and settled Gabe in his lap. "Gabriel Herne, love of my life, delight of my eyes and reason for my endless slaving at the keyboard, will you marry me under the authority of New York state as well as in the eyes of the gods?"
Gabe dove in and kissed him. "Yes, yes and yes again."

Anthony put three more brush strokes on the wing of the limp, gothic boy fairy he was trying to paint. The tingly, flighty feeling in his stomach had gone straight to his feet again. He did something that resembled the Snoopy Dance, then took a deep breath.
The world had changed overnight. He and Josh were going down to the Pride celebration today, but everything was different. Yesterday, they had been living together, slightly kinkily ever after.
He glanced at the engagement ring Josh had given him. They had talked about Massachusetts, but somehow the wedding kept getting put off.
Now, they had a date. August first. They were going to the courthouse and become legally Mr. and Mr. Josh Bellini-Tucker and Anthony Tucker-Bellini.
he did another Snoopy Dance and picked up his brush, anxious not to lose the morning light.
