heraldofdarknes and I started out about 6 AM after oversleeping.
The trip down was a bit bumpy. We got into a storm cell. We'd drive out of it and every time we took a stop, it caught up with us. The squall line got pretty rugged a time or two.
We got in around 3 pm Atlanta time, got our badges, took our stuff to the room and sawskogkatt and our other roommate, and set up the table. We hung out and started the Poker Run.
Sales were slow, but Kiernan Kelly and Kayelle Allen invited me to join them on the M/M panel and in the reading of Naughty Bedtime Stories.
I signed up and got to play Match Game. Lars and I tied. So, they split the prize packet. He got the autographed photo of the Klingon. I got a Zombie Preparedness Poster. We both got Boy Butter, mine is extra desensitizing. "Take the fussy out of your bottom." If you need desensitizing, honey, take it slower!
Also, Amber Benson, who looks like such a zaftig amazon on Buffy? She's about the size of my Oli! She can't be 5'5" and she's skinny. How tiny must the others be? A real sweetheart though.
The Star Trek: The Missing Minority panel was interesting. They talked mainly about fan produced web series. Our theory is there are no gay people in Trek because they found the genes and bred them out, ergo the Eugenics War that Khan and his people were part of. Also, a character walked in out of my latest steampunk story, sat and listened. I got a shot of him.
The What the Blue Hell is M/M panel was fun. Kiernan, Kayelle and I play well off each other.
I read the opening bit of Niko-Chan, with Val and David having sex for Naughty Bedtime Stories. I couldn't hear Kayelle's, alas. And Kiernan had a couple of people read her story, Mr. Fix-It, which was sexy and funny. My Paul Muse is here too. I need a pic.
This morning,Joy dressed me. I wore a red satin blouse with ruffles, black leggings and boots, a sheer black skirt with a red and white bustle, and she laced me into a red and black leather waist cincher. Then she did my hair and makeup. I added a garter with a (plastic) dagger.
I looked amazing! People were taking pictures of me! Yes, photos will be posted soon.
I sold very well, over a dozen books, some misc. The gay and lesbian center will have at least a $50 donation. 20% of book sales and all tarot reading proceeds are going to them.
I had a panel with the Outer Alliance this afternoon.upstart_crow, skogkatt and two others were great fun as we talked about the group and the work we do.
Kiernan had me join them on the "Same Shit, different day" panel about trends and what readers want to see. More poly. More retellings. Fantasy that isn't a Tolkien retread.
We hung out and then changed clothes. I have a white angel dress with white obi and gold flats. We had turkey on rye, and I have a Gay Ghost Story panel in an hour.
Can't wait for folks to cash out their poker run hands. Everyone agrees my deck is HOT!
