What American accent do you have?
Created by Xavier on Memegen.net

Neutral. Not Northern, Southern, or Western, just American. Your national American identity is more important to you than your local identity, because you don't really have a local identity to begin with.

Take this quiz now - it's easy!
We're going to start with "cot" and "caught." When you say those words do they sound the same or different?

I sound like a neutral midwesterner with a heavy television overlay, according to a man who wrote voice-recognition software. I learned to speak from Lost in Space, Star Trek, Wild Wild West and Gunsmoke. I worked to scrape the Missouri country off my tongue (I have to be very tired to worsh my clothes) and came out sounding like everyone on TV.

The package arrived on Friday before we left, so we took it along. The Future of Fandom appreciates the dress very much. The Distant FoF found the boots just a hair tight across the metatarsals, so my mom snagged them.

Glad it got there. I apologize for any packing problems. I let my 13 pack it while I showered. Glad the dress works for FoF. Sorry about the boots, but it's good that they fit Mom.

I did this one yesterday and, for some reason, it makes out my London/herefordshire/Welsh accent to be pure New York. Very peculiar.

Ahahaha... same result with me, considering I'm not English native speaker. My mother language is Spanish and I'm from Chile and I learnt it at Elementary School XDD

I apparently have a Mid-Atlantic accent, despite growing up in Michigan. Perhaps that (and my darker skin and curly dark hair) is why strangers in the Upper Peninsula always asked what country I'm from.

I always say that I learned American English when I was younger. Through 5th grade in Chile they tried to teach me British English, but I'm more comfortable with the first model, but I never thought about the tests results. You can check it out at

Note: Consider I'm not English native speaker... XDDDDDDD

The thing tells me I have a neutral accent as well, but I consider myself to have a quite clear Philadelphia/Central Jersey accent... It seems they're missing questions like how you pronounce "water" (wooder)...
