Talked to my dad, re: May travel, since he's been flying recently.

His girlfriend had a splendid quote: I haven't been felt-up that much since high school.

Come prepped to remove shoes and strip, IOW.

This just sounds like more and more fun.

Just be Jedi-like about it all. *g* "There is no embarrassment."

I would suggest the following: unless you're wearing athletic shoes, take them off before getting to the checkpoint and put them in a basket to go through x-ray. The steel shanks set off every alarm they've got. Don't wear any jewelry or have change in your pockets. Take your watch off. Don't wear a metal-buckled belt or anything with metal buttons.

I made the mistake last year coming back from MWC of wearing jeans and a denim shirt, both with metal buttons. I also had a pocket of my backpack filled with metal-backed slogan buttons. Hoo boy. Learned my lesson, I did.

Embarassment? I haven't been embarrased since I gave birth in a room with 20 people watching. 12 of whom (nursing students) applauded!

I was planning on wearing my caftan, closefitting knit leggings and t-strap sandals. Everything else packs. My keys are staying with my folks, and the only problem will be the metal on my hat. It doesn't fit in my suitcase.

I don't wear jewelry, and I hadn't planned to have change on me.
