I got home from work and cleaned up. We ran errands, including the credit union.

The boys are each getting 2 shirts and 2 ties (their choice) for Christmas.
Oli is getting a pillow pet and a book.

We went to Home Despot and picked up the replacement parts that I accidentally set afire while fixing the toilet (don't ask) and a new thermostat. Ours seemed to have developed a short. So, after meatball sandwiches, Repair Dyke struck again.

Once I got the old thermostat off the wall, I saw why we were having trouble. Our wires are too short. So, I kludges it back together, with all the skill of someone who took shop from MacGuyver, and we now have a working thermostat delivering warm air to our house.

I'm not going to KC. Too much sleet and I'm still fighting bronchitis.

And one pub is pulling the ever-popular "Let's move the payment schedule and announce it by calling it a 'reminder.'" Just a reminder, we've always been at war with Eastasia.
Used to be, you could expect your October check in Mid-November. Then, you had to wait until the first of December. Then they started cutting checks on the fifth business day of December, and no inquiries before 20 Dec. NOW, it's the end of December and you can't gripe until 15 Jan.

I was kinda counting on the 20 Dec check for Christmas shopping. Now it might not be here until AFTER ShadowCon. This is ridiculous, especially since I need it to PAY for ShadowCon!

*grump* I'm going to bed.

Ouch on the ever delayed longer wait for payment issue. This is why I absolutely adore Loose Id, they are -never- late and haven't changed their payment schedule once in the time I've been with them. They're a top notch outfit, unlike some I've been with. (PM me with the pub's name if you wouldn't mind, I wanna avoid them.)

Sleet, ugh. Give me rain or snow but sleet... bleh. Nothing like balls of ice frozen to the windshield, the steps and the entire driveway.

So far--which I feel is unfortunate--we haven't had any snow that's stuck for more than an hour. It hardly feels like Christmas this year, especially when I remember driving through a white out level blizzard last year to get to my friends house for the holiday. 20 miles of driving at 5mph listening to Christmas songs on the radio. Oddly I had a lot of fun and arrived at my friend's house in a wonderful mood, despite the terrible weather and horrible traffic.

LOL I thought I was the only one that called them Home Despot! Good to see someone else with my same sense of oddball humor where stores are concerned.
