Work: Worky. Was reminded I'm not completely well and had to sit down for a few minutes. Also passed my recertification today. I just need to renew my license.

Kids: Oli was not just grumpy but surly today. Ah the joys of puberty.

Good scale day. Down a pound.

Did some tutoring myself. I hope I helped.

Media: Saw Silent Hill. Saw Scary Godmother. Reading LKH Incubus Dreams. Also Harlan County Horrors. Acquired UC Undercover, eps 1-11.

Scent of the Day: Tintagel, Spicy mulled wine flowing through the musky heat, warm leather and bright clash of armor, the damp branches of Cornish hawthorn, blackthorn, juniper, English elm and bayberry, and the magical tingle of dragon's blood resin.

Question of the day:
I have taken to having a nightcap, just a single mouthful of Captain Morgan Tattoo, before bed. I find it circumvents my body's automatic panic mode at the CPAP machine. I can sleep without it, but falling asleep takes me much longer. I worry about this habit becoming a dependency. Thoughts?

I'd say if the one mouthful starts to become 2 mouthfuls or three mouthfuls, you should probably start worrying. One till you get used to it? Doesn't sound too bad.

The D-Man Checks In: Don't let the alcohol myth fool you. A single shot before bed to calm the nerves and settle/numb the mind should be fine, and it might even have actual healthy benefits. Be no worse, per se, than becoming dependent on a glass of warm milk. Alcohol, in moderation, has been proven to thin the blood, and is suspected of warding off hot flashes (what woman doesn't enjoy those?), certain types of cancer, and osteoporosis.

The D-Man Checks In Again: ...Add to this thought that a slight alcohol residue in your mouth resulting from your just-before-bed-shot could also have the benefit of retarding overnight plaque formation & acids on your teeth.
