Dragon*Con 2010: Saturday
Sep. 7th, 2010 02:50 pmI awakened Elizabeth for "Stroll with the Stars" a morning walk that encourages fen to get up and moving in the air before spending all day in panels.
She fired me twice, but rehired me for making her tea. And so began my first full day of flunky/minion/body-servant work. I told her upfront to just cooperate and do exactly as I said and everything would go very smoothly and I wouldn't have to go all Butcher of Cairo on her. My David muse is a pushy, demanding bitch when he wants to be, but oh so very efficient.
It was a beautiful morning for walking and I visited with some interesting people during the stroll.
We got back just in time to find a spot for the parade. And was THAT fun. I'd never seen the parade. The Ghostbusters were out in force, with oodles of walkers and 5 vehicles. The Periodic table was hilarious. And there were not only endless superheroes, but lego superheroes as well.
After the parade, I went back and got changed. I did a video shoot with JKG Vader, the folks who brought us D*C Thriller and White and Nerdy. (under the cut)
It'll be up soon.
The author Kaffeeklatch will be on 10 Forward next year (which is what my brain insists on calling the 10th floor skylounge) and will be advertised in the Daily Dragon.
Bun called as I was setting Elizabeth up for the Oil Disasters panel and informed me they were headed to the con to do some shooting. So I met her as she got off the MARTA. No bank robbery this time. She wandered with me and we had a short visit with
filkertom, Tom Smith. I bought his "Sins of Commission" album. Very cute hearing about people's lives. Also talked to Marc Gunn and got his "Kilted for Her Pleasure" CD whis is VERY naughty. I love it. Voltaire wasn't in, but I got his "To the Bottom of the Sea" album for Obi.
I was at liberty for a while so I got Subway and took some down time. I require a great deal of it at D*C. I hung out, finishing "Jennifer Government" and watching D*CTV until the late panel.
"Love Rots: Zombie erotica" was an interesting panel. And John Everson brought up the Grub Girl stories, which I've read one. And everyone was kind of "eww" about the idea. I asked the panelists about the Uncanny Valley factor.
By the time I fought my way back to the Marriot, I discovered the Fire Marshal had shut it down. But having a Marriot room key got me in and I went to bed.
