When your surname is legally Sparrow, you gotta have a Captain Jack icon. This is one I made. I love the expression. And the descriptors just sort of came to me. Because Jack is our fictional ancestor. The kids adopted him.
Ah Nicky. Nick Boyd is a psychopath. And he's short and pretty. That's a shot of Aaron Stanford, my mental image of Nick. He looks like he's somewhere between "May I please blow you, Sir?" and "You die now." (if you ever want some of what inspires Nick & James, go watch XMen 3, and observe the Pyro-Magneto interaction)
That's Offred from the Handmaid's Tale. I use her when the political stuff is getting out of hand. For a while, I thought we were on the track to Gilead, that dark and twisted theocratic version of the US. And sometimes, I'm still not sure we aren't. The actress is the late Natasha Richardson, whom I have adored since seeing Gothic in 1986.
The caption says it all. I'm on the leash to keep you safe. *eg*
