I am the automatic winner in the SW short-story category. (only nominee)

In July, that story is defintely going up.

Hoping it will be bigger next year, for some real competition.

Right now, I feel tickled that I was nominated, but kinda foolish since i was the only one that was.

Well, y'all get SM out, and Kathleen gets NHB done, and there's Han/Luke in "Bystander" and there's "Matrix of Reality" in Even Less to hide. I'm writing for Constricted again, as well as the next "hide" zine. And who knows, PL/EL may even make it.

Sheesh, feast or famine...

It's good news that Han/Luke were represented at all, and must admit I'm looking forward to reading your story when it comes available. :) Sounds like next year there will be more offerings and competition, though.

Oh, and I was tickled to see you're submitting to Smelly.

Any word on No Holds Barred, btw?

No word on NHB.

"Smelly" is fun. I found a home for the Threepio/Falcon piece.

Sample:
"Captain Solo wishes to know why you won't engage. Where is the mechanical failure that they may repair it?"

"C'mere, tall bronze and handsome, and I'll engage you right into mechanical failure."

OK, she's a flirt.
But it's fun to just be silly (and the boys have been so grimly sexy with the rewrites I can't get them to play). I need to go watch some old Mae West movies.

Funnies!

Oh, I so agree it's fun to just be silly. Judy will be very pleased to have a new contributor, I'm sure. Sounds like your story will be hoot. There's not a whole lot of humor in SW fanfic, and that seems a real shame, because there's certainly a lot of humor in the films themselves. Oh, Mae West ought to be a real inspiration! (Or how about The Thin Man series, or any of the other screwball comedies of the 30's?)

IIRC, Alex had a humorous piece in her head at one time (born from the evening she, Cara and I went on a frantic corkscrew hunt at MWC), and I have a partially completed bedroom-farce Han/Luke story that I'd like to get back to one of these days.

I would LOVE to see a bedroom farce!
People under beds, in closets, behind curtains, etc.
And one of the boys in the midst of all this chaos looking charmingly confused.

Just Mae West movies. i need to get her speech pattern down.
That's the Falcon's "most peculiar accent."
