um...

crossed bones?

I also like "Prepare to Be Boarded" and "Master of the Ship"/"Ship's Masters." The rest strike me as kind of cheesy.

I'm trying to come up with a title that deals with the motion of the waves, but I don't have a specific suggestion yet.

I gotta choose 'Prepare to be Boarded'. Also occurs to me you could maybe do something funny with the RN flag-signals that translated as "Engage the Enemy More Closely'. In one of POB's Aubrey-Maturin novels, the naval attendees display this combination of signal flags at a grand ball ... they know what it means, even if some of the other dancers do not!

Thing is, it's not funny. It's grim and intense and sexy. And neither captain was RN.

Ah, didn't know it was grim and intense, not having seen the original 'Kestrel'. None of those titles work for me, with that information. at first glance... Although there's not necessarily anything humorous about either 'Prepare to be Boarded' or 'Engage the Enemy' when you think about either situation... Don't know where or how I got the notion it might be a more humorous tale than it clearly is.
