Memphis in Mud

I...am wet. Uncomfortably so.
I finally got my boots and wet socks off after seven hours.

I had to wade through knee-deep water to get to my truck this morning.
We got over six inches of rain.
Friends in the area have evacuated because water is up to their slab foundation.

My damage today:
2 soaked feet, squlch squelch squelch
1 bruised shin. I fell across a stack of totes.
1 bruised knee, opposite the shin
2 bruised boobs. From the fall.
1 offended nose. Some dockworker pissed in the corner of my trailer.

Now, I'm going to go have a hot shower, a warm bathrobe and some tea.
It's the Weekend!
