Writing Meme, double down
Apr. 16th, 2010 01:55 pm15. Tell us about a writer you admire, whether professional or not!
The list is endless. There are people whose work I admire. There are writers whose lives I admire. And I know a lot of writers.
But I'm going with
reannon, Elizabeth Donald, fearless leader of the Literary Underworld. This lady spends her whole workday writing. She's a newspaper reporter. I can't do that. When I have to use my brain and words all day, I got nothing left for fiction. She is a divorced mom of a tween son, which is a huge job right there, even without things like music lessons, scouting and other extracurriculars. She writes damn good horror fiction and her romance work isn't bad, either. She's an officer in her professional society and sings in her church choir. She hauls boxes and racks and stuff and more stuff to one convention a month so the Literary Underworld can establish itself. She rides herd on all of us. She is funny on livejournal and excellent on her paper's pop-culture blog. And somehoiw, she still manages to have a social life.
If that's not worthy of admiration, I'm not sure what is.
16. Do you write romantic relationships? How do you do with those, and how "far" are you willing to go in your writing? ;)
I write primarily romance, and by my reviews I don't do it any worse than I handle any other fantasy element. How far? How does a menage a trois with conjoined twins, involving fireplay and a strap-on work? Does that work for you?
