Odd bits of trivia about me
Apr. 7th, 2010 12:58 pmI own three pairs of gold sandals. Two with beads. I own four pairs of boots: one moccasin, one beat-to-shit roper, one jackboot and one faux motorcycle. In contrast, I own one pair of sneakers and one pair of workboots. What do I wear every day? This is clearly a sickness.
Patchouli goes haywire on my skin and infests the whole room from a single drop.
Today's misheard lyrics that suddenly came clear:
On "Father Figure" the line is "preacher, teacher" not "creature feature."
On "Bad Boyfriend," it is "you can certainly see" not "you can suck it and see." (in fairness she pronounces it "sut-en-lee")
*headdesk*
Under the cut, a playlist for Nick & Corban. Suggestions taken.
Father Figure. George Michael. This is the quintessential James/Nick song
Personal Penguin. (David's Theme, don't ask)
Sugar we're going down. Fallout Boy. (Corban's Theme)
Bad Boyfriend. Garbage. (Nick's Theme)
Put it in your mouth. Akinyele
A Fine Romance. (Steven and Tanis' Theme)

I like that version better.

Date: 2010-04-07 09:56 pm (UTC)Father Figure - I died laughing, and yes, it's perfect...if a little creepy.
Personal Penguin - Don't need to ask. I get it. Kudos on turning a kid's song to all the wrong purposes.
Sugar We're Going Down - I don't know Corban...but I want to now.
Bad Boyfriend - Frickin perfect.
Put it in your mouth - Woot. I don't get it...but sure!
A Fine Romance - If you're referring to Billie Holliday's 30's recording, I agree completely. It fits them somehow.
Personally, and in my horrifically guilty pleasure girly way, one of my favorite songs that comes to mind about James/Nick is Right Kind of Wrong, by LeeAnn Rimes. Stone me later.

Date: 2010-04-07 10:11 pm (UTC)"Put it in your mouth" because Nick has an incredible oral fixation. First thing he thinks at the sight of a naked man is what it would be like to blow him. (this is universal for all the Nick muses. Nick Boyd, Nick Harper, Sean Dempsey, Josh Tucker) Also because it features prominantly in the movie Rick.
Corban is the librarian for the Building. He will be playing a MUCH larger role in the next book. I think he's getting introduced about chapter two. Nick gets sent to the library for a book and finds him. David likes him very well. They play chess now and again.
Clip from Rick, with Duke at his Nick-the-second-of-the Ligatos-groupiest.
