Writing Meme, day 5
Apr. 5th, 2010 02:26 pm5. By age, who is your youngest character? Oldest? How about “youngest” and “oldest” in terms of when you created them?
(yes, I am jumping in late)
Oldest: Professor Morganstern from "Tuition Fees." He fought the War on Heaven before the beginning of Time, so I guess that qualifies him as "older than dirt," quite literally.
Youngest: Betsy from "Meanwhile Back at the Ranch." She's 8 and very much based on my Dollface. (There is a toddler mentioned but never appears in one story)
Oldest in terms of creation is Zara ("Pushing the Boundaries of Reality"). She arrived in 1986 for a fantasy novel, showing up with sorcerous talents, a bad case of twincest and her distinctive look. She translated over to cyberpunk without batting an eye.
Youngest...Phillipe. Phillipe is a trucker out of New Orleans, with an auntie who does vodou and rootwork. He drives a big purple rig and we encounter him going north on I-57 in Illinois. He's a tall thin black man and calls our narrator "bebe" and "cherie" and never her name.

Date: 2010-04-08 02:34 pm (UTC)It seems like they must be from somewhere, but although my friends list seems to consist almost entirely of writers, I don't see anyone else posting them.
