Top Black characters in SF. My only quibble is that Uhura is not as passive as they remember her. Uhura went on away teams (City on the Edge of Forever), rewired the entire comm board (Who mourns for Adonis) and took the helm (Balance of Terror) as well as command of the bridge (both live action and animated).

Gay Adoption Article = Deep disgust for me. I don't have much of an opinion on the marriage issue, I think I can respect the wish of heterosexuals to keep the -term- 'Marriage'. But gay couples should be able to adopt, be able to have benefits and all the legal rights. It's what's right. This sh** is just disgusting to me, and should be to any moderate or pseudo-right-winged individual. We should throw them out of our party and suspend them in vats of applesauce until they see reason. ~nods~

I don't get why it's so important to keep the word "marriage" for the straights. Honestly, if the institution has all the rights and status and everything, you know people are just going to say "oh we got married" instead of "Oh, we joined union" (like the sims do).
