You know the drill. Here's the lines, you give me song and artist.

I warn you, my Opal's taste for novelty and filk is second only to mine.

1) Spring is here, spring is here. Poisoning Pigeons in the Park, Tom Lehrer ([livejournal.com profile] mpoetess)
2) We pulled into Argo port in need of R&R. Banned from Argo, Leslie Fish ([livejournal.com profile] elisabeth)
3) There's many a strange impulse out on the plains of west Texas. Cowboys are Frequently Secretly Fond of Each Other, Willie Nelson, or Pansy Division ([livejournal.com profile] mpoetess)
4) When I was a child, down in South Caroline
5) Look out your window and what do you find?
6) I'd play "The Red River Valley" and he'd sit out in the kitchen and cry.
7) Well my name's John Lee Pettimore, same as my daddy and his daddy before
8) Well I woke up Sunday morning with no way to hold my head that didn't hurt. Sunday Morning Coming Down, Kris Kristofferson & Steve Earle ([livejournal.com profile] kadath)
9) I'm in your song, macroing your kitties! Cat Macros, Tom Smith ([livejournal.com profile] tannenwyn)
10) You gone too far this time The Reflex, Duran Duran ([livejournal.com profile] thefannishwaldo)
11) There'll be times when my crimes seem almost unforgivable Strangelove, Depeche Mode ([livejournal.com profile] deza)
12) Dumb as dirt and twice as mean, such a son makes mother crazy
13) A dually diesel pullin hard with a horse trailer in tow
14) Now boys I've been to Bethlehem, rode there on a big steam train
15) To the town of Agua Fria rode a stranger one fine day Big Iron, Marty Robbins ([livejournal.com profile] elisabeth)

8 is Sunday Morning Coming Down, and I'm going to guess either Kris Kristofferson, or the Johnny Cash version, since everybody in the world has covered it.

I'm a major Fish fan; I've got a fairly sizable amount of filk in my music collection. I was more impressed to see someone list Marty Robbins... I had to stare at it for a minute to be sure I was seeing it correctly. Nice to know somoene else listens to the old Western music. :)

'Mister Shorty' remains a favorite song of mine.

I <3 Marty. I played Big Iron so many times while working on a western that my family asked me to give it a rest.

*laughs* And I just got back from my father's house, having gone and raided his music library. He'd inherited most of my western music during one of my moves. Given the amount of dust, I doubt he ever played them. :p

1. Life is skittles and life is beer. I think the most wonderful time of the year is the spring, I do! Don't you? 'Course you do. But there's one thing that makes Spring complete for me, that makes every Sunday a treat for me.... Alllll the world seems in tune on a spring afternoon when we're Poisoning Pigeons in the Park.... ~ Tom Lehrer

oh and 3: Cowboys are Frequently Secretly Fond of Each Other - Pansy Division

11 is Depeche Mode's Strangelove. My second favorite of their songs, right after Master and Servant.
