2008: goodbye, good ridddance

valarltdIf I had to sum up a year in a single word it would be Politics. The Presidential race dominated the year, and made me really think about what I believe in and what I want for my kids. Homophobia, sexism and racism abounded. I don't need any of those, esp the sexism being mouthed by powerful women, who want to pull the ladder up behind them.
I realized that no, there is no way to agree to disagree with people. Especially those who think my family needs fixing or better yet, destroying, because we are not like them.
Fandom politics splashed me with wank, and carryover female fandom politics left me scratching my head and looking for new publishers.
I have done my best to remove people and institutions that are bad for me from my life this last year. My flist, my publishers list, even my real life contacts got pruned.
Kids passed all their school stuff. Obi and Jonner got glasses.
My job hangs by a thread, and much as I love driving, the system is bad for me.
Mudd's job is not secure because his district is not secure.
Cervix still iffy, but better. Arthritis so bad I'm uncomfortable all the time.
Kids still medicated
On the spiritual side, things are improving. That can only be of the good.
