Noodly appendages!
Nov. 25th, 2008 09:49 pmOr not.
Three of us are covered in flour, but we have NOODLES! they're drying now, and will be sliced tomorrow to dry more for Thanksgiving.
I'm getting a shopping list around for the pies
Pumpkin and chocolate truffle, maybe pecan and eggnog
Bun's boytoy, Pele (not his real name), is joining us. Given a choice between thanksgiving with a father who dislikes him and a 18 year old stepmom who can't cook, and one with 4 good cooks and at least 6 people who like him (and two who are looking forward to meeting him)... well, he made the obvious choice.
We're pleased to have him along. He's a great kid.
Dad and my sister,
jlm122, are coming down tomorrow. I have to work. Then I work on Friday.
Work is really stinging us on the pay this year
I drive Tues and Wed of Christmas week, then Tues/Wed of New Year's week (or would if I weren't having vacation). That's 2 days without pay, and one with $40 holiday pay.
On my check, that's $326 net instead of 715. My deductions are $124.50, before taxes. UGH!
Shopped tonight. Glass etching creme is more expensive than expected. $12 for 3 oz. Got pots for my plants and a glass mermaid who needs a jump ring to fit on the satin cord (she's mine). Also used the Circuit City card for a camcorder... I have a brilliant idea for a book trailer for Eight Days Ablaze.
