Blurb and question
Aug. 4th, 2008 11:36 pmBlurb for "Eight Days Ablaze:"
Lawyer Adina barJonas loves Hanukkah. And her Papa gives the best gifts. This year, it's the VirtualClone Box, for “a fully integrated sensory experience.” Adina uses it to argue law, meet her heroes and thoroughly indulge herself with some very sexy men over the eight nights of the holiday.
But, Papa and her Uncle David have their own agenda, as always, and Adina finds that enjoying her new toy has played right into their hands.
Intriguing?
Sexy?
Yawn?
Trans Question, cut for length:
We finished a Robin Hood novel in which Maid Marion is bio-male, but presents, acts and passes for female. (One character has fantasies of getting her pregnant) Throughout the story, we use female pronouns to describe her.
Only three times does Marion acknowledge she is bio-male.
Once with Robin when she is being intimate. She explains she knows, but she doesn't know how to be a man and being a woman is safer for her and her beloved Bess.
The second time is a big reveal, stripping to her braies and announcing name and parentage in front of a lot of nobles in order to establish authority.
The third is when Robin asks why she doesn't wear men's clothing. She just laughs and says she's happy enough to be the Lady of Locksley.
So those with more trans experience:
Are we doing it right?
If not, what needs work?
