Tell seven random and/or interesting things about myself. Get five blog buddies to play, too and link to their blogs. Don't forget to post the rules.
I don't tag. Play if you want.
1) When I'm not writing, I do handwork. Crochet is my favorite. I taught myself to knit in order to make Jayne hats. I like embroidery, but counted cross-stitch makes my eyes cross.
2) I still have the owl my stepmother (ver 1.0) got me in 78 when I had ear surgery. The owl's name is Olivia Hooten-John. She accompanied me through four more surgeries, including one in my 20s.
3) I got a Sony 505 Ebook reader. The first thing I put on it was Elizabeth Donald's Abaddon.
4) I have no stage fright. As a child I had painful doses, to the point I froze during my tap recital, and threw up before and after the show the year I narrated the Christmas pageant. These days, if you tell me I have to read before a group of eighty strangers, my only questions are "Sitting or standing?", "Queer-friendly or not?" and "Can I pass out matchbooks?"
5) I am a 15 year veteran of the Cookie Corps, which includes tenure as everything from a Brownie to a camp counselor to a Girl Scout leader.
6) The goddess image on my private altar is Medusa. I've identified with her more and more over the years. The alternate is Athena, but I don't have a statue of her yet
7) My senior research project for high school was "Sadomasochism and Contemporary Society." I had no internet in 1986 and did my research in UMKC's medical library. It suffered from a surfeit of Susan Brownmiller.
