I went to the Dr. today. Quick pap and I'll know in 2 weeks if I need another procedure.

I'm also probably perimenopausal. I had my first hot flash and my periods are getting shorter. Hot flash, wow. That was something, really. I was suddenly burning up, like I couldn't breathe or do anything. I sat in front of the fan and then cranked the car A/C up. (Mudd was shocked, I'm always cold)

On the positive side, I'm down to 171 from 196. The sad part is that a 25 lb weight loss is not visibly noticeable.

And on Saturday, someone proved he was made of fail
He asked "So your husband's okay with you driving a truck?"
I wear no wedding ring.
Dude, you just assumed your way into a full stable of donkeys.
1) There is no evidence I have a husband. I did not mention him.
2) There is no evidence I am straight.
3) What makes you think my partner would have jack to say about my line of work, as long as it's honest?
4) what makes you think I would listen if he did?
5) And I did say it was local, home-every-night work

Dr. H didn't because I'm scheduled for my annual with Dr. T in 2 weeks, which will lead to a mammocram. (i know it's a typo, but I like it!)

Dr. H is my gynecologist/cancer dr/menopause dr.
Dr. T is my GP. She does the 3 position brest exam.

That's the version we teach in that program I'm in. Most docs don't do it, which is why I ask. We ask all of our students, and it's amazingly rare to find one who's ever received one. One of the positions we teach (the one where you lean forward with chin up, make like an underwire bra with one hand and chop down with the other hand, thus checking the chest wall for adhesions) actually checks where a mammogram doesn't.

Yon truck driver has a less pleasant disposition than a pig or two I've met.

One of my classmates is made of fail too.

One of them noted my bitchin' Pirates of the Carribean totebag and flashlight combo tonight, eyed them carefully, then asked "So how old are your kids?"

Bitch, please. My totebag! My flashlight! My peanut! Neither of which should indicate the presence of any fruit of my loins.

She loses the Internets.
