This crap can STOP any time
Dec. 19th, 2006 12:18 pmSo I went to the dr today about my cholesterol.
I had an abnormal pap smear.
So I get to go to the OB/GYN on Dec 28 for a colposcopy and maybe a biopsy.
It's probably nothing. But this is like another cup of turnip on the plate.
I didn't say turnip.
I didn't want turnip.
Turnip is something I hate.
But they scooped it and heaped it
And finally piled it
As high as the moon on my plate.
You remember that scene in Close Encounters where he's building Devil's Tower out of mashed potatoes? Yeah, my plate looks like that, only with ugly mashed turnips: turnips of deadlines, turnips of health trouble, turnips of family chaos.
And I've been told I have to eat it all. No matter how bitter and pithy and gross.
There are days not even gyros, chocolate and naked muses can make better.

Date: 2006-12-19 06:35 pm (UTC)My only consolation is to say what I've finally begun to take into my heart. The good times don't last, true, but neither do the bad times. Don't make it worse by thinking of this has bitter and pithy and gross turnips you HAVE to eat. Think about the fact that THIS TOO SHALL PASS.
And you will writing entries here in LJ about how things are going so much better.
MUCH love to you! We are here for you.

Date: 2006-12-20 02:16 am (UTC)Buuuuuuuuuuttttt....
Mom had a hysterectomy at 36, in part because of major cervical lesions (the prolapsed uterus was the deciding factor) So family history is NOT on my side this time.
