Adventures in Backing
Feb. 25th, 2006 08:15 pmSo I spent the day on the driving course.
I did four circuits of the course.
A straight-line backing, around the loop to make a right-hand turn without hitting the cone. Then an alley dock. Trying to get a 50+ foot truck into a lane at right angles to the road.
By the third time through, I managed it all. The fourth went pretty well too.
Thought I'd never get it after the first time. Jack-knifed it and hit 3 cones trying to do strightline backing.
But I hurt. There are 275 lbs of Angel. And that cab is about 6' high. And i hauled my fat butt in and out of it at least 12 times.
