I don't care if it's supposed to be a Mary Sue (assuming it is), you have written a vivid and believable-to-the-universe description of this character. Perhaps that is because it does have the ring of truth about it, although since I'm so lousy at guessing, I hesitate to try to pick out your genuine family history. (But I do believe the tractor story. And I know you crochet.)
