I watched "Unsafe" and "Pariah."

My thoughts:

1) "it's now or never?" Dear God! The Meta! It BURRRRRRRRNNNNSSSS us, precious! I had to stop for a full 2 minutes and catch my breath. OK, it was the Elvis version, thank goodness. Had it been the John Schneider cover of it, that would have just been squick-worthy.

2) Chloe: wtf? She was a virgin 3 or 4 eps ago when Witchy!Lana needed her hair! Plot hole, meet Mack Truck. We won't count her being seduced by Lionel Luthor since it was noncon

3) Chloe's "little talk." OK, it sounds very much like what I heard from many of my peers both growing up and later. "It wasn't bad, but I sometimes wish I hadn't." (Of course there were the ones who were all "It's awful, but I have to put out to keep him.") It struck me as very realistic, (aside from Glaring Plot Hole, see point 2) and she gave Lana excellent advice: "Don't fuck him just to get him back." It's very similar to what I told my daughter: no one ever regretted waiting.

I question the numbers. The only article I've found is from the BBC, and only applies to those 14 and under: "However, almost a third of girls, and more than a quarter of boys said they now felt it had happened too early in life. Many say the pressure to have sex was a key factor in those regrets." here

And I skipped the PSA.

4) Why is there no Clark-Lex interaction? Nothing!

5) Reformed!Lionel. Lex isn't buy what he's selling, and neither am I. Interstate motels, soup kitchens? Yeah, right.

6) Mrs. Robinson Teague. There's something repulsive about her, and not just her personality. Older women can be gorgeous--look at Martha-but she looks fake. I would say she has no face and puts it on via the magic of velcro every morning, glossy lipstick and all. I'm not seeing platic surgery, I'm seeing a woman who still thinks she's 30 and dyes and paints and acts that way. Jayne Seymour is a beautiful, beautiful woman, but her looks have become a parody here. It goes with the whole "Witch-machinator" idea.

7) OK, OK, I get it. Mr. DryDustyMorality is just that: dust. Dust in the wind.

8) I like Lois a lot better now. I wasn't crazy about rude, mouth-without-volume-control-or-Off-Switch, Lois. I like brash, snarky yet caring Lois better. "bunny boiler sort of way" indeed. And "Jack-o-Lana"

9) Ah Clark. I so get where you're coming from with Alicia. And she loved him very much. Such a pretty 18 yr old widower.

10) is it just me or is meteor mutation really coding gay this season? I mean it always has, but Alicia's bit about "If we all stand up, we can be free." sounds a lot like what I hear from gay activists.
