Corrupting the Innocent
Jul. 14th, 2004 04:23 pmIncident the First
Bunny and I watched Much ado about nothing starring Branaugh, Thompson, Reeves, Washington and Blessed.
I'd forgotten the nudity. Girls from the back and boys from the side. Mudd, natually, walks in at the bath scene in time to see Anonymous Extra 1 go jaunting across the back of the screen, his willy waving in the wind. He asked "Should she be watching this?"
Bunny took it in stride. "After all the diapers I changed on Jonner, I know what a penis looks like." My 12 year old came out and said "penis" in the same room with us. I'm not sure whether to be proud, shocked or horrified.
She got a kick out of the movie as well.
Incident the Second
Bunny and I watched "Phoenix." She likes Smallville, but she'll never admit it. (She likes Quantum Leap too, but won't admit that either)
At the end, when Lex gives the farm to Jonathan, she's like "Why'd he give it to Dad? He loves Clark, doesn't he? He just said it was worth being stranded to see Clark's face."
I explained that in the old days, when a man wanted to get married, he gave something valuable, like land or cows to the other family. It was called a brideprice. She thought a second and said "Oh, good. Now he can marry Clark instead of the crazy lady."
Bunny sees the Hoo-Yay!
