When did you write your first "Fanfiction" piece? What was it for?
Depends. The first was a script format of a Valley of the Dinosaurs comic book.
The first actual story I wrote at 14. It was a terrible SW/ST crossover.
Did you actually post it anywhere?
No.
What series have you written fanfics for? (both posted stories, and non-posted stories)
Buffy/Angel, Sentinel, Princess Bride, Indiana Jones, Simon & Simon, American Graffiti, Brimstone, Millennium, Star Trek, ST: DS9, Star Wars, TPM, LotR, Witness, Hercules, Smallville.
Any Original Characters (ones that got named) that you had inhabit the series universes? If so - who/where? (yes, this is where we embarrass you by revealing your dark secrets!)
Lots.
Jonathan Rosenberg-Giles was one of the early ones.
Reverend Jones of Sunnydale's Unitarian church. (since neither Rabbi Goldstein nor Vicar Stephens would marry the couple) Dr. Gilespie appears in this fic as well. She's a cameo. And Charles Giles, who has come for his son's wedding.
Dr. Wickersham is mentioned as having a new toupee. His daught appears in a trunk story that i never finished.
Hobbie was a rebel pilot who (somehow the profic folks missed this) died on Hoth.
I've created a whole family for Han in the Seasons of Corellia series. He has 5 living sisters, a grandfather, and eventually he and Luke have a pair of sons, Hreik and Hren. His oldest sister, Elka, is married to Stom, who owns the largest distillery on Corellia. They have 3 kids. Astri, the eldest daughter, works for the reprolabs. She has 5 kids, all designer. Hend has 2 wives: Marni and Lissa. They're sisters. They have about 10 kids between them. Yosh is asexual.
Zora and Talla are a couple of starhoppers. They come into What Says the Wind and get their own story with A Day in the Life
Eril is Princess Leia's tanihen. He was given to her when she was 12, and he is her tutor, friend, escort to official functions and lover. He shows up here and there.
Sul Harvangul is a stiumdust merchant who had Republic headquarters bombed. He and Darvin Linalv, a weapons merchant, run afoul of Han and Luke in Bluffs
Aarana is a scary old lady the boys meet on Choosing Day
High Trader Lejilujo puts Han and Luke through an unpleasant exploration of their Win-Lose Parameters. Cuyad Hoj and Dyf Kodul are a pair of stormtroopers. Only Cuyad survives.
The narrator of Catharsis is pretty vague, but definitely original.
And Lavira Starwatcher. She's 16, with years of dance training. She speaks flawless wookiee, has auburn hair, and is screwing Luke Skywalker. (Let's ignore the fact he's 30)
She's such a good teacher her dance classes are full by the second afternoon of the cruise. She's Qui-Gon's granddaughter. Her grandma is Shmi Skywalker. She flies a Nubian. She's in Starwatching, Skywalking, and Going Solo, which was a deliberate badfic.
If you had the chance to have the original creator turn any of your fanfic into an actual piece, which story would you choose?
Benefits of a Classical Education. But unlikely since Denholm Elliot is dead.
Do you have any weird music quirks that help you write?
Nope. i do like to have some running.
What are common "themes" you hide in your stories?
Redemption. The fall from grace and the return to it.
The importance of play.
What are your favorite characters to write POV's from?
Han
Leia
McCoy
What story of yours do you wish more people would read and love?
No idea.
If you could pick a specific scene of your story to be made into a comic-book/doujinshi format, what scene from what fanfic would you pick?
Definitely the moment of realization when it hits Han that Princess Lucia Organa of Alderaan is Luke born female. When he and Chewbacca are helping the princesses out of the howdah when the bantha's been stunned.
And last but not least - Why do you like writing fanfiction?
Because I've always done it. My childhood games were media centered, whether books or movies. It's a natural outgrowth. Just as writing original fic is an outgrowth of fanfic.
